So my dad goes to the speed shop he always goes to buy his Redline oil. Only difference is he comes back with some oil I've never heard of - Torco. Dad says the counter guy told him its a great oil and a very close second to the Redline he normally uses. I think that's Bee-es. Just after reading the container I wasn't inpressed. It talked about quality ingredients such as hydrocracked base stocks! I immediatley told my dad that this oil is nowhere near as good as his redline because hydrocracked basically means Group 3 oil compared to his group 5 Redline.

What do you all say? I think he got duped into an inferior oil by a typical know nothing counter person.

Woah! After checking out their website I may be wrong.

http://www.torcoracingoils.com/product.html

Some of their products are advertised as grp 4 and 5. I know the additives can be more important than the base oil stock at times so maybe, if they have a good add pack - it might be a good oil.

Back a couple years ago, torco was selling some of their oils pretty cheap,so I tried them out.On the bottles I had of it,it had print saying it was an 100% ester-based oil, thats all I remember. The bottles had VP racing on it.

Had no issues, but I just used it over the winter-time.

It good oil, but IMO it's not redline. TBN is a little low, ut Vis is nice in the 5-30.

I have used SR-1 in the passed, but still prefer redline

I have used a lot of Torco SR-1 and SR-5. Both are good stuff but SR-5 is really getting up there in price.

I would rate Redline better than SR-1 and SR-5 holding it's own and then some against Redline.

Try it out. It will be fine.

Next time try their MPZ additive. The foulest smelling, ugliest looking stuff yoj woulod ever put in your car...but it really works...

Torco has been around a very long time. Their GP-7 2 stroke oil is all I would run in my stuff for many years and I never had to do a top end on a 250R 3 wheeler with over 10 years of riding on it.
