Moms taurus needs a quart of oil to top it off been 2 busy 2 go to the store. I still got a quart left out of a Mobil 1 jug from my old impala. I've got maxlife 5w30 in her Taurus. So Q is can i top it off the the Mobil 1 and b ok?

not a problem at all. Any API certified oil is compatible with any other API certified oil.
Also synthetics and conventionals are completely compatible. Maxlife is a syn blend oil anyway.

Good, dad's and i's cars call 4 5w20 (mom's does 2 but because high milage i run 5w30). Prob should shake the bottle i think it's been in the garage for about a yr.

The issue is the correct level, not synthetic oil.
How old is the mobil 1 leftover? Is it the trisynthetic formula? That is REAL synthetic. Most everything else made today they are fibbing about it being "synthetic" ('ceptin the RDS stuff).
