Top off oil?

I have a 2003 ford box truck with the 5.4 motor with 98000 miles.After 3000 miles the truck was low 1 quart of oil.I change it every 7000 miles using Pennzoil Platinum 5w30.Is it ok to top it off with mobil 5000 10w30 and still go the extra 4000 miles to my next change?DO I have to add PP?

If you are burning a quart every 3000 miles the top off oil will help give the current oil more life. I'd say you're fine and there is nothing to worry about.

Just remember, the wrong oil is better then none at all.

I have Mobil 1 in my crank case right now, and i have a quart of PP if i need to top off.

Go for it ! i even put some PP in my dads 91 corolla ( 1/2 quart low) and he gets his oil changed at a Quick lube shop
