1000 miles on my ARX cleaning phase, 500 to go before changing oil. I am down about 2/3 of a quart, should I top it off or would that dilute the properties of the ARX ?

The car is a 99 Saturn SL2 with a DOHC engine that just turned a 100k last week. The oil still looks very clean. The fact that it is not yet a quart low is already good news. It was using a quart in aprox 1000 to 1200 miles.
This is not uncommon in these engines.

What do you think?

If your engine is getting low on oil, definitely add some.

I can't see it hurting the effectiveness of the Auto RX treatment.

I would not add any oil until you are actually down to the "add" mark on the dipstick. Why dilute the Auto-Rx if you don't have to?

Hey neighbor,

I've got an oil consumption problem myself. After doing some searches i've read that Saturns very often benefit from a 'piston soak/ mola soak.' Meaning that you take out the plugs and drip a cleaning fluid, Marvel Mystery or whatever, in to the spark plug holes. Let it sit overnight.

Do a search on Saturn forums, "oil burning." It might benefit you. Best of luck.

Thanks for the replies guys. I will follow the advice of "Mr Auto-Rx" himself & just top the oil off.
BTW skate, I have already tried the MMO Soak but didn't have luck with it. Hence the ARX. Thanks anyway.
