These are all great oils and will protect modern engines with reasonable OCI's.
I suggest you check out the UOA section here to search for results for people using Valvoline.
What you are asking regarding Valvoline will only get you anecdotal conjecture. If you want facts you must research them for yourself.

For 5w20-5w30 3-8000 mile oci for the civics,il use
Pennzoil yb for the price,or any brand name conventional if need be.
For extended drains,i want to try Amsoil 0w20 for up to 25000kms If i burn it,il stick with a conventional yb probly.

Plenty of engines make hundreds of thousands of miles with no issues over the decades using good old Valvoline.
Its a excellent oil and I would (and have over the last 30+ years) use it with not a single thought.
I have not used very much of it mainly because of its normally not on sale anymore and I do go by price.
Like most stuff here the brand loyalty

Well it seems to me that the brand name conventional oils are all marketed for 3000 miles. Usualy i see them making that or just barley.
Penzoil platnum seems like a 10000 mile oil on this site. Wich is awsome for the price.
And the 15-35000 mile oils Ams-Mobil are build for just that,if done right,either can do that extended oci.
Comes all down to what you want out of a product. Right now,i fall into the Amsoil extended oci catagorie. Might aswell try it. I will run a shorter oci,followed by a longer one,with uoa's for reasurance.

MILLIONS of engines go HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of miles using conventional oils. And most of them go longer than the 3000 mile OCI...
If people were able to make 100k, 200k using yesterdays oils (which they were making it) doing the same mileage with a SL/SM oil is easy.

A while back I read about a guy who put 500000 miles on his car. Whey they asked about oil, he said "I'm picky about what oil I use. It has to be on sale."

I've used all but QS and MC5000 out of the ones I know are good. I do have a 4.4L jug of QS somewhere in my stash though.

More people use "Valvoline" than they realize. Ashland bottles Carquest,Napa, and several other large chains house brands. Valvoline is as good as any other conventional. It just is not marketed as agressively as the others because Ashland oil has their hand in just about everything.
Persoanlly,Just run whichever one is on sale. There's not enough difference in any of them to matter. Most are grp2 based with a splash of this & that to get it done. As far as value, Havoline & Chevron Supreme used to be king but now I think Shell has closed the gap.

I've used all of them over the years, and as has been mentioned above, they're all good. The oil change interval is more important than the brand used. My personal favorite is Castrol GTX, but let price be your guide.

My short list for dino in 5-20 is Motorcraft or Pennzoil.
I like Pennzoil YB.
