Tires for GMC Canyon

I’m not a fan of the wildpeaks as they are super heavy, but they have a ton of really good review especially off road performance. My buddy says it’s the best AT tire he’s had and he does a lot of off roading w jeeps. Coopers also have good performance reviews, they do get loud as they wear.
I still have the stock GY duratracs on my Canyon and performance in all categories is A+ except for road noise. Insane loud. I picked up another set of used OEM wheels w worn out tires cheap on Craigslist . I’m gonna put HT tires on it and used it for on road then switch to the duratracs when going off road.

What tires are people using on a GMC Canyon? I do not like the Goodyear Wrangler Fortitude tires that came on mine, very slippery on wet roads. Looking at Cooper Evolution HT2 just not sure yet. I want to see what a lot of you with this truck have for tires and how good are they. I have a 2021 4DR 2WD V6
If you like Cooper tires, the Endeavor Plus would be the highway tire.
Has the Cooper Evolution HT 2 been discontinued or is it a Walmart exclusive tire? I don't see it on their website.

I think I will go with the Cooper Discoverer A/T3 or the Falken Wildpeak A/T2 W. Seems to be a good priced tires and they have good reviews.
Agree with the two listed and also like the BF Goodridge KO3 that i just put on, I also like the Coopers and Wildpeak, just had to try the KO3s. These are my top three tires to run on trucks, just depends on best price and availability.

My 2021 Canyon came with Goodyear Duratracs. I loved the rugged look but those things were LOUD!!!! I was actually starting to convince myself that I had a hub bearing on its way out!

They had plenty of tread left but I switched to Michelin Defender LTX M/S2's. Night and day difference. Super quiet and I actually get 2mpg better mileage. Great in the rain and in packed snow/ice.

The only thing I don't like is that they look like minivan tires, but I got over that real quick!

I went from,

They didn't last and were loud mostly because I assumed "Hey you got a truck now get some AT tires." In reality I drive mostly on-roads & highway at that so definitely a poor choice.

I was hopeful and while definitely better than the Goodyears they did not last the close to 70k. I believe the super hot temps this past summer ate them away faster than I thought. Good traction though.

Just had these installed and got a good deal almost getting 1 tire free with the discount. I'll try to curb my aggressive cornering this summer in hopes they last longer.

I ended up going with the Duratrac RT's. I like them a lot so far. I was contemplating on putting a more on-road oriented tire on the ZR2, but ended up caving and going to a AT tire. Looks better too. Tires are much quieter than original Duratracs.

I recommend Michelin Cross Climate 2's for everything. Driving around the city? CC2. Driving around Ukrainian war zone? OK, maybe something a little tougher, but are you driving it offroad all the time?

I drive CC2's on a 2020 CR-V with 40k on them and the tread still looks beefy. Handling in snow an ice is really amazing.

I just found Continental TerrainContact A/T on sale at Walmart for $178 Ea. Seems like a good deal to me and they have good reviews. Anyone use these?

This is a very good price. I say jump on it. These are non aggressive AT tires so they are quiet on road. My buddy has them on his Tacoma and after 6 years is planning on replacing them w the same

Seems like a good price for an excellent tire. They are quiet, excellent in the wet and longlasting

Had them installed Friday and have only driven about 20 miles. They are smooth and quiet. That's a good start for me.

Continental TerrainContact a/t tires have been much better tan the GY Wrangler Fortitudes. They are smooth as glass, seem to have good traction and good highway manners. So far so good and no change in mileage. They are LT tires where the stock Goodyear wranglers were not.

They should have exceptional wet performance.

Yes, they are good in the raid. I purposely tried to break them loose in the wet and they stuck. That was the worst thing abut the Y Fortitudes, besides they were not LTs and the Conti is.

LT Cont A/T tires for $178ea? Wow, heck of a deal!
For sure, they were cheaper than the Coopers I was looking at. I took the road hazzard and with tax and mounting charges they were a bit over $800. Walmart has a really good warranty for replacement on tire and repairs. I go with when traveling that there is always one nearby. The same thing at the tire place down the street was over $1200.

I’ve been running Continental terrain contact HT on my Ram 1500. Stick like glue in rain. Fin on dry roads. Fine in light snow, need 4WD in deeper snow.
