Firestone Destination LE2. Without a doubt the very best tire I ever put on my Dakota and that includes a set of Michelin LTX. Great traction wet or dry, super quiet and excellent handling and ride quality. I also gained about 2 MPG over the BFG Long Trails I had before when I got my new Firestones last summer. I have about 15K on them now and still can not say enough good things about my LE2's. When the OEM Hankooks on my wife's new Nissan Rogue wear out it will get a set of LE2's as well. Firestone may even still be running the $50.00 Visa gift card rebate and they had a buy 3 get 1 free deal they had earlier this year.

+1
Or the Michelin Latitude Tour. Currently has a $70 MIR if you buy a set, making them less than the Bridgestone. If you're a Costco member the rebate is instant $646+ tax installed.
I urge you to consider the Michelin LTX-MS2 tires. I have them on my 4Runner and am very impressed with them.
My 4Runner came with Dunlop AT-20 tires as OEM. I thought they were the most horrible tires I had ever used and replaced them with about 10K miles on them. The wife drives the 4Runner as a DD so I want her to be safe and comfortable.
Next up were the BFG Long Trail Tours. They were pretty good but one tire developed a pull to the side after 15K miles and Discount Tire offered to give us full credit for the one tire and a partial on the other three. I took the deal and jumped to the Michelins.
Let me say the change was incredible. Road noise is almost nil and the ride is very comfortable. Even the wife noticed! After 20K+ miles, she still comments about how quiet and comfortable the ride is. We went on a 250 mile (one way) road trip this past weekend and I am so impressed with these tires that I'm seriously considering them for my Tundra.
They are not cheap but they are darn good.
Also wanted to add a comment about the Firestone LE2 tires. I have them on a GSA Ford Explorer at work. It will sit for weeks at a time between uses and will often have a flat spot when first starting off. But it disappears within a few minutes/miles. I taken that vehicle on quite a few drives and also like the tires. If Discount Tire sold them, I would seriously consider them too.
When I took deliver of my new 03 4Runner it had Michelin Cross Terrains and they were great, almost 90K miles. I replaced them with Michelin Latitudes. They are wearing unevenly and with rotations the wear is following the tire, not the location. One tire just failed and was replaced under the warranty. These tires are in no way equal to the Cross Terrains they replaced. I'm going to look at the LTX MS2's and the Firestone Destination LE2's based on responses and research. I want to thank everyone for their responses even the person that suggested a round one made of rubber.

I am also in agreement with the Michelin LTX MS/2 and Firestone Destination LE/2 as being the top two tires for your application. And too, make sure your alignment is in spec. This is worth the extra money to keep tires wearing properly.
Look at some pics online of used LE2's. It looks as if the grooves are not cut even all the way through, so when its half worn through it looks very balled. I was leaning towards these until the pics were posted here on a thread I had about them.
Too late now. The tires went on today, 2 days earlier than planned. I'll be back in a year or so to report on how they are working. At least I've gotten rid of those Michelin Latitudes.

You made a good choice. You will be happy with them.
