Clipped the edge of a pothole, tire has a small gash. No side wall bubble, can't tell if the chords are showing, passes the soap test so no leaks currently.

Tires are cooper endeavor plus , 215/55/r18, brand new only two months old. Thanks for any help.

That is a high stress area. I wouldn't take chances. Just go get a new tire put on. The fact that it's only 2 months old is good. This way after replacing the bad one you still basically have a matched set.

Rubber cement for tire patch kits. But I'd do the road hazard warranty route if you can.
Last time I had a tire damaged by a pothole, the county paid for a new replacement including installation.
New York State said "we had no knowledge there was a pothole there to repair prior". Cars with flats daily and them having road crews out 24hrs patching but no knowledge.

This was on the Long Island Expressway where even the news stations did video's of the damage between lanes. I sent all teh pictures and details etc. I got :poop: .

@rowrowwheel - if you have road hazard have it checked where you bough them. If it was mine with no hazard, 2 months old I would probably replace to match for rest of the time. Maybe our local SME @CapriRacer can help.

What county and what did you have to go through to get the county to respond?

Sorry you can't get some of your sales and income tax back. I don't feel guilty since the county and state are supposed to fix this stuff and sometimes you just can't see or avoid the pothole.

Did you purchase road hazard from your point of purchase?
cooper doesnt include any road hazard coverage.

If there are is no road hazard, it does look like its down to a cord.. I'd consider replacing it on my own $$$

maybe @CapriRacer could lend his opinion.

Mine was at night, raining, holes filled with water. Changing lanes was a safety hazard for many months, you had to plan and look way out. It was at the point where I didn't change lanes at night going to work. Some decided to change lanes into mine so I changed to avoid them. I impacted the pothole and swore my airbag was going to go off. Multiple vehicles on side of road after it with flats. I was "lucky" and just got large bubble and bent rim. Road hazard covered the tire, I paid for rim repair and wheel alignment/suspension check.

I had to move from middle to right lane and caught one of them just after 39 seconds.

It was a 4 day old tire.

My dually has had this slice since I purchased the truck over two years and 10k miles ago. This is a front tire supporting a 6.7l diesel engine.

I have a new set of Michelins ready to replace this tire and the rest of the tires; just can't get this tire to "give up the ghost".

They did attempt to fix it, terrible job though, lasted less than a month.
