Looking for tire recommendations for our 2010 Honda Odyssey. We live in Connecticut, so might drive this in some light snow, but do have another AWD vehicle for tougher winter conditions.
This vehicles does currently make some road noise, possibly due to the tires that are currently installed. We're looking for something with a good balance of a smooth and quiet ride, as well as good handling in most conditions.
The first rep I spoke with at our local tire shop recommended the Mastercraft SRT, and the 2nd rep recommended the Toyo Celsius 2. I've also heard good things about the General Altimax R345 and R365.
What are your thoughts? I'm also open to other suggestions.

Thanks.

I just got the Toyo Celsius II on my Accord a few weeks ago and so far I like it. I lost some steering response coming from a high-performance all-season to a grand touring tire, but I wanted improved ride comfort and the Toyo certainly delivers that. Not sure on winter performance yet but I chose this tire because I felt that it would be a decent all-weather solution. Road noise is low and wet weather traction even in torrential downpours has been fantastic.

Some reviews said the Celsius 2 is noisy. The 1st rep said he put those on his wife's accord and changed them to the Mastercrafts because she didn't like the noise.

My son put a set of these Coopers on his 2016 Odyssey at my suggestion. I have a set on my Ford Edge and they are very good tires. Ride comfort is VG, wear so far VR and traction is great. Going to put a set on my Mitsubishi Outlander when the tires wear out.

Take all the above into account and consult with TireRack reviews (especially focused on those that are for your vehicle). There are probably quite a few good choices out there.

Honda Ody’s tend to be a bit loud to start with. CrossClimate2 is a great tire (my two sons have them on their 2010 S80 V8 and 2004 V70R). They are “quiet” generally but do have an odd rumble sound in the two cars mentioned at certain speeds that are not necessarily super annoying but something you notice. In the Odyssey, you may notice it more (maybe).

My 06 Ody has RT43s and are decent in the quietness department. But this Ody is generally loud.

My “new” 2008 XC70 has General AW365s and they are quiet running.

I'm not an "off brand" fan like the Mastercrafts but they are better than many.

The Michelin CC2 is very popular and gets great reviews but I don't see in that size. My only concern is I prefer asymmetrical so I can cross rotate (not just front>back) if there is noise from alignment issues or driving habits.

I would consider the Conti True Contact Tour, Michelin Defender 2, Kuhmo Crugen HT51, Firestone Destination LE3. Possibly the Vredestein Hi Trac all season or Pinza HT

235/65-16

Doesn't seem like the CrossClimate2 are available in 235/65R16.

If you don't need the winter rating of all weathers and can survive with light snow capabilities (since you have another vehicle for winter), you could potentially save some money and stick with an all season with better NVH. My shortlist based on what's available at TireRack:

Standard touring AS:
Conti Trucontact Tour: $660 - test results
Micheline Defender2: $812 - test results

Conti seems like the better tire, especially in the snow.

Grand touring AS:
Cooper Endeavor Plus: $482 after rebate - test results
General RT45: $576 - test results
Vredestein Hitrac: $604 - test results

The Coopers seem decent if you are on a budget. I think the Vredestein is a better pick and worth the small premium over the General RT45.

All weathers:
Falken Aklimate: $536 - test results
Toyo Celcius II: $587 - test results
Bridgestone Weatherpeak: $876 - test results

If you need all weathers, the Falkens seem to be a better tire than the Toyo and cheaper to boot. Not sure if the Bridgestones are worth the premium.

I service 3 different Honda Odysseys for friends and relatives. Based on replacing 6 sets of tires between them, I understand that the weight of this minivan wears out tires rapidly, even if they are aligned and rotated bi-annually. As such, I'd not recommend the General Altimax tires only because 3 different sets wore out in ~36,000 miles and became noisy after 20,000 miles. Currently, our preferred tire is the NOKIAN One tire w/the Kevlar belts. Great all-weather traction, excellent ride characteristics, decent steering response, 80K mi. treadwear rating, and lower noise levels. It is available at Discount Tire/Tire Rack and WalMart.com in the 235/65-16 size at a competitive price. Probably not quite as good as the Michelin Cross-Climate2, but better bang-for-the buck.

After speaking with the tire shop again, these are their recommendations and notes:
Toyo Celsius 2 - best overall all-weather tire
Bridgestone Weatherpeak - quietest all-weather tire
Michelin Defender 2 - best all season tire
Mastercraft SRT - best tire in the next step below the other options

What are your thoughts?
I've read mixed reviews on noise levels with the Celsius 2. Are these overkill for an FWD minivan in Connecticut?

How's the noise level with the Celsius 2?
Are they absolutely 100% noise-free? No. Are they loud tires? Also no. They're much quieter than the Nokian Z-Line A/S that this tire replaced, which is a more simple tread pattern but got terribly loud especially as it wore. I don't think the noise from the Toyo is bad at all. I had read similar feedback before I bought them and once they were on the car I thought "I don't really know what all the fuss was about".

https://www.tirerack.com/tires/bridgestone-weatherpeak watch the video's from Tire Rack on the Weatherpeak and others. They cover noise, wet, etc. I personally put more weight to TR testing than local dealer recommendations (that started with Mastercraft).

I have had good luck with many Nokian tires as Nukeman7 listed as an option.

I can't say for the snow on all the listed as I run full winter. I put the True Contact Tour on my sons car and he drives "spirited" so wanted excellent wet grip. My daughter I put on Pirelli Scorpion Verde, Wife is on Michelin Defender LTX M/S, I have Pirelli P7 AS+2.

Winter is a different story and for conditions but 3 are on Continental.

Toyo Celsius 2 from what I saw has a low treadwear rating so will probably wear quicker.

Many places also have a 30 day "try it" thing that at least you can experience dry/wet/noise.

Maybe one other is what was is on it currently? Besides noise how was your experience that you are trying to improve? Did you use it in winter in the past? I know MANY people that complain about how poor their vehicles are in winter especially those with AWD. They give no thought to actual tire just "I have AWD, I can go anywhere" until they can't get up a hill, can't stop or turn.

Check the Odyssey forums there may be a recommended different size that fits and is popular giving other choices. Might find 17" rims cheap with other options.
