Tire Recommendation for 2001 Sport Trac

There are some great tires available but, what’s the best tire for you?
How do you use your vehicle?
Climate & road conditions that you’ll be driving in?
What type of ride comfort and/or handling are you looking for?
What is your budget, including installation?
Provide as much info as you can!

Mostly highway in south Florida. Good handling for around $700 to $800.

Kumho Crugen HT51 on closeout at Tire Rack. Extremely good all-weather traction and quiet, comfortable highway ride. I have them on 3 vehicles (Truck and SUVs). At this price, grab'em before they are gone!
Not too familiar with Kumho but it's certainly worth looking into, Thanks.

Those Kumho's are an all-weather rated tire. Not the best choice for a vehicle in south Florida and the Tire Rack speaks ill of its wet performance.

They are excellent in wet weather conditions on both of my 2WD trucks (Frontier and Ranger). Here is the summary of performance quotes from Tire Rack:

Kumho Crugen HT51 Reviews

Customers think the Kumho Crugen HT51 delivers excellent year-round performance as a highway all-season tire, with standout scores in dry traction (9-10) and winter grip (8-10) for confident handling in varied conditions. Treadwear earns consistent praise (8-10), suggesting durability for long-term value. Comfort scores (8-10) highlight a smooth, quiet ride, while wet traction (8-10) and hydroplaning resistance (7-10) show reliable wet-weather capability. A few lower winter ice scores (7-8) are noted but remain within acceptable ranges for the category. Overall, drivers appreciate its balanced performance across key metrics, making it a dependable choice for highway-focused all-season use.

You are mistaking opinions/reviews for test results.

  • What We LikedWhen pushed, and if it's dry out, it makes good use of its traction.
  • What We'd ImproveWet and snow traction is a must, as well as some additional refinement on-road.
  • SummaryIt's a "good enough" tire that struggles to make an impact in a competitive category.

Nope...I just value the reviews and opinions from over 1000 real world, diverse drivers (and my personal experience over 6 years of driving on the Crugen HT51's) over a 3 hour test on a track by a single Tire Rack reviewer.
