Kind of neat I can find a 175HR14 tire which was OE fit on my 81 MB 240D.

But for $142 each, I think Ill pass. The sportrac5 seems interesting but only one size available.

I hope they start carrying their whole lineup. I have always been intrigued by their Quatrac line.

They need to carry their LT-rated "van" tires - I have a friend who wants to keep the OEM tire/wheel size on his Vanagon/T3 but it's hard to find a decent 185R14C tire. Tire Rack used to carry a Conti and Michelin in that size.

Wear mileage is not a major concern with most European buyers. Expectations for wear mileage is quite different in USA and Canada!

We are more concerned with a tyre's performance. Durability comes second. If a tyre lasts longer than 30.000km (~18,500miles), we consider that "durable" (and begin to question the tyre's wet performance).

Sounds like you guys run your oil longer than your tires!
;^)

I got less than 20kmiles out of my last set of OEM tires and was pretty ticked about it...but, it was also nice to get that crummy rubber off and tires that I liked on there.

Almost every tire mfr says they're only good for 6 years or so. This goes whether you spend $650 for those Pirellis, or $200 on a set of Chinese tires.
