TR will take care of it for sure. Until you have mounted hundreds of tires, then you will find out, no matter how careful you are, you will end up with one backwards, sooner, or later. I have done it more than once, but I have always caught it, I think.

I ordered 4 wheels and winter tires for my BMW from TireRack. When they were installed, I had a new vibration. They asked me to have them rebalanced, which I did, and the problem disappeared. They paid the bill without further question. I thought that was fair.
My Volvo place put my directional tires on the wrong side - and when I called, they apologized and asked me to bring it right back. Mistakes happen. I took my car there for many years afterward.
Some of the best surgeons I know make mistakes too. But the best ones are the first to own up and then make it right. Denying there's a problem can be the problem.
Everybody makes mistakes - it's what you do then that makes the difference.

hyundai dealer mounted 4 michelin defenders with the
"INSIDE sidewall" on the outside.
I actually didn't notice until my tire rotation.
Took them in 9 months later and they fixed it.
and miracle enough they didn't implode from running in the opposite direction (lol)

I ordered a new set of tires for the Focus in spring of 2014. 4 Cooper Lifeliner GLS tires. I ended up with 3 of the tire I ordered and one Arizonan Silver Edition. All the same size.
The Arizonan line is a Discount Tire private label Cooper, I ordered from a different company.
Apparently they were mated together by mistake in the Cooper factory and no one along the way noticed that it was the wrong tire.
I did have to ship the wrong tire back and then have the replacement one shipped to me.

I use Tire Rack for almost all my tires. Did just get some from Discount tire though.
I had a Taurus SHO that had factory wheels that were directional. I took them into WalMart to get some directional tires put on them. It took about three tries before they got them all right. The wheels had L&R embossed on them and the tires had the arrows. The shop manager was a bit flustered by the time it was done right.

Tire Rack has fantastic selection of performance and racing tires. They support lots of racing. They usually have the best prices. Yeah, maybe some local store would match their price, but why would I not support the supplier that has the best price to start with rather than the one that was trying to eek out some extra profit at my expense? That's my logic, anyhow.
I've tried local suppliers and they simply can't supply the tires I need/want. They always come on strong and end up failing.

Interesting. I recently got a set of snows on new wheels from TR, and they were all the same size, mounted properly, and with the correct install location stickers affixed to each one.
For the number of tires TR sells, I doubt their mistake percentage is very high.
But buying any large, buky and expensive to ship item from online/mail order is a hassle waiting to happen...
