Purchased 4 new P24560R18,s for a 2007 Mazda CX-9. Noticed a wheel thumping or noise from one or both front tires. Thought it was not balanced properly so took it back to the service dept. Vehicle was checked and I was advised it was a wheel bearing issue with the right front. Since it was not evident with the old tires I am suspect it might be a deformity in the tire. Any insight???????

Swap the tire to a different position. You have not put on enough mileage so it can go anywhere.
Had that happen too once with new tires. Turned out to be a bad tire. It's not as uncommon as you'd think. Pursue that avenue first. I agree have them swap the tires around and chase the noise.

I bought a Aveo that had Falken tires on it. The car was quite noisy. Which I assumed was from lack of sound deadening material since the car had very low miles. The noise sounded like a wheel bearing noise but at all four tires. Needless to say I put winter tires on the car and the "wheel bearing noise " went away. I am guessing your noise is from your tire you just bought.
This happened with our old Outback and it wound up in fact being the wheel bearings. Not sure why it happened right after having the tires changed.
Only way to know for sure if it's the wheel bearings is to put it on a lift and put it in drive and listen. If it's tires, it'll be quiet; if it's wheel bearings, they'll keep making noise.
