Douglas tires from Walmart

Thanks for all the ideas! I had two sets of winter tires without rims that needed mounting and balancing. They threw those in "free" and I ended up with Toyos...That's what she had on before and they seemed to wear ok. Out the door for under $600. Given the price to mount and balance a tire, I feel I only got moderately taken advantage of. Pretty good for the USA :-) They come with "free" everything. Lifetime balance, flat repair, valve stem, etc (most places offer this I know). I thought about Walmart...and then went to the local place that donates to the community and has workers that seem to like their jobs.

Don't waste Michelin money on it. I'd check for sales of the size you need on all the online website, and see which one of the "reputable brand" has the best deal. Ship it home and install it at your local tire place. Timing is key, wait till black friday if you can.

Last time I did it on my Prius it was Yokohama for about $75 before install, after rebate. If I want to go cheaper there's Fuzion, Kumho, Falken, etc.

I`ve got Kumho Solus TA11 tires on my car and they are just fine. Got them at Tire Rack for a good price. They have very good reviews

I recently install the G-MAX™ AS-05 from General tire on a 960 Volvo rear wheel drive.

I like the tire very much, it has a soft ride and very low noise. I found it to be better than the Rt-43 which I also have on the CRV.

I'm a Michelin guy but this one has close to 200k, gets driven about 2k miles per month currently, and might be getting traded/sold off soon. Kind of looking at maybe buying something more "value oriented". 50k or more treadwear warranty, good reviews, but not of the deep pockets Michelins require. Firestone? Mastercraft? Something else? I want something that holds up well, even wear, not complete garbage, but that is maybe under $120/tire installed.

Opinions?

Since you're a Michelin loyalist, go with a lower tier Michelin, BF Goodrich
