I recently had my windows tinted, did not think about asking how to clean. Anyone have any ideas/suggestions on how and what to use to clean tinted windows.

The place that tinted mine gave me a bottle of cleaning solution specifically made to clean tinted windows. Call the place that did your tint and ask them if they have any, which they should.

Cloth dampened with soapy water to clean. Follow up with cloth dampened with clean water to "rinse" is the recommendation from the shop that tinted my windows... Or, he could sell me a can of specialty tinted window cleaning spray. I'm cheap..err, frugal. =-)

I'd use a microfiber towel designed for cleaning glass, and either water or a glass cleaner that is safe for window tint. Stoner Invisible Glass and Sprayway glass cleaner are safe for most tint. Stay way from cleaners that contain ammonia.

The shop that did mine told me just to get a bottle of "Glass Plus" at the grocery store. It is ammonia free and is safe on the tint.

Windshield washer fluid cleans glass well, actually I prefer it over windex even for non-tinted glass as it leaves less streaks. Plus it's only like 99 cents a gallon.

I wish I could find it for .99 a gallon. WalMart recently started charging 1.64 a piece. That's crazy.

My buddy owns a Tint shop in Philadelphia. I help him some days a week, and he has done my car.

You can go to any car parts store(pepboys, autozone, ECT. . )
and get glass cleaner that says "safe for tinted glass"

What ever you get MAKE SURE it is AMMONIA FREE!!!!

Ammonia will turn your Tint film PURPLE!!

LOL, trust me, I have seen ALOT of people and I am sure you have to that have purple windows on there cars. Thats not how it came!!!

Good luck, and enjoy your tints!!

If the bottle or spray can doesn't say safe for tinted windows, don't use it. I found a store that carried the "Sparkle" brand of purple glass cleaner my grandparents used to clean house windows, mirrors. It said no ammonia on the label and also was safe for use on plastics. It doesn't mean tint plastic. I ended up destroying the tint on my left door, and ended up just removing the tint altogether including on the other windows. Not having tint any longer I decided to try Sprayway and will continue to use it.:) My wife noticed the difference and said it looked like there was no glass. I said that is the results I'd been wanting for a LONG time.
