FoMoCo parts. Part of the MZR/Duratec deal was that Mazda design the engine and Ford supply all the OEM parts for the entire term. FoMoCo parts are not known for high quality- timing chains, hydraulic phasers, dumb dipsticks, dumb non-keyed harmonic dampers.. all kinds of achilles heel parts from 2002-2013


Ford's timing chain parts issues go well beyond ‘13. My co-worker just got his ‘16 3.5EB F-150 Plat back from the dealer after replacing the timing chain-it would on intermittent cold starts slap so badly it sounded like a diesel-he only has 45K or so on it.
