Time on Oil

I had a bad used oil analysis on my last 5K mile change of GC 0W30, so I decided I would do a 3000 mile change with Mobil 5W30 and then sample at the next 3000 mile mark to see how it's holding up. The used oil analysis showed elevated metal wear on GC and it was suggested I do a couple of short OCI to "flush it out".

The only problem is that it is taking longer to reach 3000 than I had anticipated. I currently have 6 months and 2000 miles. It could take another 3 months to reach 3000 miles.

My trips are 30 miles round trip once or twice per week. The rest of the time, the car sits in the garage. How long can I leave the oil in before changing (given I need a short change before sampling)?

That's not a problem. Time based intervals are based on the assumption that the vehicle is operated under "severe" conditions (e.g., extensive idling and especially short trips during which the oil never heats up under open loop operation, resulting in higher fuel dilution. Your situation is not such a case.

I agree with SubieHo. So long as you don't take any (or very few) short trips and the car is garaged as much as you say, you go longer on the time.
