oil temp and vacuum/boost gauge.

Tells you the world or when you can extract power from your engine, and when youre overdriving it and killing your economy.

Oil temp can be had via a replacement drain plug!

8,10 and 12 but seriously a vacum guage a compression guage and a multi-meter! Those are the most useful. Now if you get more specialised then a line pressure guage, and a set of machine guages would be even more useful but not used as often!

What makes you chose an oil temp gauge over an oil pressure gauge? The turbo is oil and water oooled, so other places have said the oil pressure is better than the oil temp.

My 528e came with a low coolant level and low oil level lights. The LCL should be in every car. Oil PSI, and volts would be good adds.

Oil pressure is highly over-rated; enough is all you need. But on a turbo'd engine oil temps can be crucial. If your oil temp is good your pressure will also be ok.

It seems that I have an oil pressure idiot light. Didn't really find it until I pulled out the manual. Now I have a few people telling me to go with the oil temp.
