Threadlocking Plastic Threads

I am tired of this fitting coming loose when I am disconnecting the garden hose to my pressure washer. The male thread is plastic, and I learned a long time ago that Loctite weakens plastic.

The best I could come up with was applying a bit of masking tape to the male threads. It definitely made the fitting harder to thread on to the pressure washer.

Any suggestions?

Do not use locktight on the threads. I am assuming that is a Ryobi pressure washer due to the color........but it really does not matter.

using this system eliminate the twisting connection.

Teflon tape and tighten it better then you have been with the correct pliers. I see it has a hand hold, but maybe you have been too ginger with it. Dont use thread locker for a garden hose fitting. I've used blue on some 3d printed stuff and its holding fine.

Put a quick connect on your garden hose and that fitting so there is no more screwing/unscrewing of the hose...just plug it in.

I’d try the thick teflon tape for gas fittings. Yes it’s teflon. But the point is to tighten up the joint with some space filler and a bit more torque.

Thanks, everybody. I have decided to go with the Loctite 425. Did not know that a plastic safe threadlocker existed.

I've bought maybe 36 sets of these things. I have them everywhere, on every single hose connection I have, at the house, on the camper, on spray bottles of pesticide, EVERYWHERE.
