Tires are dry rotted and flat. It definitely sat for some time. But registration on the tag is pretty recent......or fill the LF tire.

The fighter pilot dash is my favorite part. But otherwise in stock form it was quite bulky and underpowered. But the power delivery was extremely smooth due to factory twin turbo setup. What gained it its fame is how well the 2JZ-GTE responded to modifications.I don't think the 4rth gen Supra was overrated because of FF. If anything - the orange monstruosity Supra in that movie did it no service.
It is overrated because it's amazing. It looked great, with some brute elegance, the dash is probably the best looking dash this side of an old BMW or a fighter jet's, and the engine can take anything you throw at it, as long as it's not pure stupidity.
Historically, it was the culmination of an era when Japanese (and German) car industries were engieneer, not beancounter controlled, and as such it's a worthy torch bearer.
