Totally!! The first summer in several in a row where ones throat wasn't burning while outside for weeks on end.
Hopefully we don't have another big fire season this year, but it could be dry with how low the snow pack was this winter.

A new set of tires costs more than many cars are worth nowadays. Probably going to see a lot of that in the future.
Gift for recently retired coworker of over 3 decades. He played local amateur hockey for many years and is a rabid Redwings fan.
I’ve been following the Friends of Big Bear Valley eagle nest cam since these eaglets were just eggs being protected against a vicious snow storm. Two of three have survived this far and the will be fledging out on their own in the coming weeks. The two adults of this nest have picked a sweet place to nest. The lake in the background provides constant fish and the male eagle “Shadow” has a thing for squirrels and coots. These youngsters have it made compared to other nests I’ve followed.

I met Gordie in 1987 at a IHL hockey game in Flint Michigan. I remember his face looking banged up when I got close. I wonder how many stitches and broken noses he had over the years?

One of my co-workers in the late '80s brought in some old hockey magazines his dad had saved.
One magazine from the late 1950s had Gordie on the cover, and the story inside said that if the Wings dropped Gordie back to the blueline, his knees would hold up better and he might be able to play another 8 or 10 years.
Little did they know ...
