I electrocuted this guy yesterday. It’s a bald faced hornet.

Killed a nest of those last summer:

I've had this underground hive of either a bee or fly that has grown a bit over the course of the year. I tried a couple things that didn't work, so I went Karate Kid on them! Not chop sticks, but Raid. Every time one would appear...pssst! They are quick and zigzag a lot! I thought there might be only about 25 or so, but I've downed over 120+. Got about 12-15 in one shot last evening as they were buzzing over the nest, probably thinking "WTH is going on?" or "Oh no! Jake, Alfonse, and Larry got hit, too!". I'll keep at it and will probably have to pick up another can of Raid.

Tuition Tour '24

5 colleges, 5 states, 5 days, 1,500+ miles; Cape Cod-Pittsburgh-Baltimore-Philly-DC and in between, then back to the Coast.

Enjoying an evening Old Fashioned at a hotel bar in Philly and saw two young adults taping these and "Replace Capitalism" flyers on a light post. Partway through their effort, one of the knuckleheads grabbed her brand-new iPhone from her pocket for a call....I took another sip and enjoyed the irony :)

Great trip with the offspring, but I've had my fill of campuses for a while.

That is quite stunning. Not going to ask the tuition numbers!!
$60,663 plus R&B:eek:

The average tuition for the schools we visited is ~$59K/yr, and you can add ~$15K/yr for room and board. I think I had a second Old Fashioned after I did that calc!

She is planning to major in Public Health Administration, then on to law school, so as ugly as the college costs are at least there is a justifiable and viable plan there...at least today and yes, our funding of this is tied to a legitimate and marketable major leading to a career path.

Yeah wow. If she stopped with the BA, then toast. Real lawyer, you be living. ahhahahahahahaha

Recently bought a house to flip and am paying a nephew to do some task on it. He removed carpet over hardwood floors. He's removing all the trim, interior and closet doors tomorrow. I'm having the hardwood floors looked at for refinishing next week but I just don't care for these at all.
