What the matter with them? The floor seems uniform and presentable to me. Yes, I see what appears to be two filled holes and you haven't removed the carpet nail strips yet....but the wood looks good.
If you have natural gas as a heating backup, one is an air intake and one is an exhaust. A third one is a cental vac exhaust ( potentially). The fourth might me a basement fan exhaust.
Here in USA they use primarily natural gas as main heat. Probably right about basement exhaust fan as there’s guest bedroom and bathroom there

I have to disagree. Clearly, Keith Richard's healthy eating and exercise regimen are working for him. He hasn't aged noticeably over the last 25 years.
