Jr has just introduced me to Fallout (the series, not the video game). We've watched the first two episodes. You're right - that car would fit in perfectly.

I'm really impressed with the style - sort of post-apocalypse meets 1946 Popular Science "How You Will Live In 1971!" meets The Jetsons.

He tells me that particular style (a mid-century vision of the future) is popularly known as "Atompunk".

Yes, atompunk or atomic punk. It's an interesting esthetic for sure. 1950s excessive, voluptuous, and often already futuristic designs mixed with futuristic technology. The Fallout game series has been around for decades. The aesthetics of the show are very well represented by the show. Clearly, a lot of love for the games went into making the show.

I am thankful that some years ago the game introduced Jr to some good music of the past.

The juxtaposition of the mellow '50s music with the shocking visuals is very effective.
