I did one better, at least for me, and read the book The Perfect Mile. A very interesting read.
Is that the one about Roger Bannister, John Landy, and Wes Santee? It was a brilliant book - an excellent read.

There's a newsreel video of the race between Bannister and Landy, at the 1954 Empire Games, on YouTube.

I know Bob Johnson, the other two gentlemen I don’t know.

2nd pic is legendary

I think the gentleman in the checked jacket is hockey exec Lou Lamoriello.

No idea about the man on the left.

Some years ago I was watching a game, and they zoomed in on coach Johnson.

Wife: "Who's that?"

Me: "That's 'Badger Bob' Johnson, coach of the (probably Flames or Penguins)".

Wife: "He does look like a badger, doesn't he?"

Me: "Perhaps, although it's more likely he got the name from coaching the U of Wisconsin Badgers."

As an old Hawks fan, I didn't like Lemaire as a player with the '70s Habs, but admit he was a good player for them, and later an effective coach with the Devils.
Inwas 15 when devils smacked Red Wings out in 4 games. The Devils fans kept chanting and yelling “YOU CANT BEAT US!” Chris Terreri was whipping fans into a frenzy as a a young Brodeur was in goal

I actually with my grandma met badger Bob at the old Pitt Airport heading back to Wisconsin. He was a true class act. I was 12 years old. A man that passed before his time. May he rest in peace.
