A few pictures from Bridgeport, CA. There is the covered bridge which was built in 1862. which has recently been restored, a huge red barn, and a gas station from the 1920s. This is the largest single-span covered bridge in the country.
Thank you for the photos of Bridgeport and Jamestown. I had no idea that part of California is so beautiful.
Tale of two panhandles ?
@CCI, Route 49 winds for 300 miles through the Sierra Nevada Foothills and specifically Gold Country. There are countless little towns and ghost towns along this scenic road. 49 begins in Oakhurst just 15 minutes from the entrance to Yosemite. Fall is the best season for a visit. If anyone has time for a leisurely 9-day road trip I would recommend 3 days Gold Country, 3 days Yosemite, and 3 days in the Eastern Sierra: Lake Tahoe, Bodie, Mono Lake, and Mammoth Lakes.CCI said: Thank you for the photos of Bridgeport and Jamestown.
