@CCI, Route 49 winds for 300 miles through the Sierra Nevada Foothills and specifically Gold Country. There are countless little towns and ghost towns along this scenic road. 49 begins in Oakhurst just 15 minutes from the entrance to Yosemite. Fall is the best season for a visit. If anyone has time for a leisurely 9-day road trip I would recommend 3 days Gold Country, 3 days Yosemite, and 3 days in the Eastern Sierra: Lake Tahoe, Bodie, Mono Lake, and Mammoth Lakes.

I think I might just have to make the time.

After my RT 49 tour, I got to play a little in the slush. Just some sludge, ice, and a little snow. Around 30°F. No problem with the DWS06 Plus tires.
