New Cincinnati Reds hat for my collection. Dad also got one as today is his birthday. 63 years old. Arrived just in time. He is a lifelong Cincinnati Reds fan. We went to Great American Ballpark in 2014 to see them play. Beautiful stadium. Dad has a smaller head than me so his hat is smaller lol.

Can’t wait for the other 9 hats my coworkers ordered me to come in. Lots of good ones.

Lighters. I don’t know why but I’ve always had a fascination with them lol. I miss the brown ones I have one somewhere. I usually carry one to two on me and have one in my toolbox I don’t smoke but they are handy either to lend to a friend when they ask or use for heat shrink tubing in places your torch won’t fit. Since our full size lighters stopped working I’ve also been lighting the grill with these. I think I’m going to get that off color reddish orange one it might be a rare one. Then I’m going to grab a purple or dark blue as most of mine have ran out. My current carry are all red currently as that’s just what my dad picked out last time. Yes I know weird addiction haha. Hey at least I don’t collect them at least not the full ones… the ones already used I do usually save unless it’s a duplicate color.

The Beetle has risen from the dead well almost lol. The cover is off and I’m going to try and get it ignition rest of the way torn apart and get the wiring out to wire up the new electrical portion of the switch and hope it will fire up. Long weekend with Monday being a holiday so hopefully can get something done.

When I was a little guy, about 4 years old, my parents took me over to visit their friend Bill, who worked with Dad.

Bill owned a VW Beetle, which was a bit of a novelty back then. After supper we went outside and he popped up the hood on the engine compartment, and fired up the engine. I was fascinated by seeing the belt and pulleys up close and hearing the distinctive clatter of an air-cooled engine.

Your 2nd photo took me back a lot of years. 😀
