I went to see an old arch bridge from which I had fished trout more than 30 years ago when visiting family in the Bay Area. The Platform Bridge was built in 1927 and has a 20-foot wide roadway. The bridge spans Lagunitas Creek.

You can find the bridge by driving on Sir Francis Drake Blvd west until you see Platform Bridge Road to your right. Turn right and park right away. You will see the bridge if you look between the trees and bushes to your left.

Looking east

How did this happen? In the background, you can see the new bridge that spans the creek.

This gratuitous tree shot was taken from the bridge. Still amusing after all those years.

The parking next to the bridge exhausted Moneypenny's offroad capabilities.

The usual mixed weather earlier today.

Entering Lagunitas. I hear @AutoMechanic likes beer made by the Lagunitas Brewing Company of Petaluma. They started out brewing in Lagunitas some decades ago but soon after moved to Petaluma.

Lagunitas is just a collection of several houses.

Driving west on Sir Francis Drake Blvd. It's overcast and mild.

Still driving Sir Francis Drake Blvd. Getting closer to the shore and it's getting temporarily sunnier. Bu there's the marine layer lurking and already coming in from the shore.

Chasing sunny conditions topless on the Petaluma Point Reyes Road.

Back on 101 going south. The marine layer is coming in fast from the ocean.

Lagunitas makes the US version of Newcastle Brown Ale with a modified recipe to appeal to American tastes; certainly considered a crime against humanity in some circles. Discussed previously on the BITOG site, so i will not reiterate (or i will) that a customer has been lost forever.

I am open to words of encouragement.

I don't touch that stuff myself. Famed actor Klaus Kinsky, not easily confused with his daughter Nastassja - who's the mama? and who is shown lunging in a fit of rage at director Werner Herzog in the picture below, lived for a while in Lagunitas and he also died there. Lagunitas is a little spooky and the residents say they keep seeing a ghostly apparition of a short but rather concerning-looking individual roaming the woods around Lake Lagunitas and even the town at night. See the second picture if you dare.
