Two year old Grandson being a rooflessvw "mini me". Grandson is checking out the $10 vacuum listed on BITOG last month.

It was quite nice yesterday and after an hour in the water, I took a break and I was having my mid-afternoon apple when my friend's husky Orion walked up to me. He's 3 and currently shedding. After he had left I noticed I had probably more of his hair on me than he did.

He was looking at my apple the way AM looks at "Chinese" food. 😄

Working in the quad cities for 36 hours. Parked for dinner and came across this Ford LTD. I bet when new, owning this car was a big deal in most neighborhoods. For a car in the rust belt, I was impressed by it's condition, it appears to be a daily driver (just a guess). It appears to have a class III or IV hitch receiver on it.

My poor old Beetle waiting under her cover to run again. I just don’t have time to work on it. It will be running one day though. Not sure if you can see thru the cover or if it was just the light hitting it lol. Need to take the cover off again when it’s dry. If it’s clear next weekend that might be my mission provided I have time. I hope by next year. Then I’m going to get her painted and redo everything on it as long as it’s stock that’s perfect. I don’t do anything that’s not stock. I want to paint it black but I’ll probably do yellow since that’s factory.

Got to sit in it. Pretty cool.

There’s something cool about old locomotives. So many knobs and levers!
My Son and I at the National museum of transportation in St. Louis back in 2019. He was just enjoying it so much! It was awesome to be able to get up into them and let his curiosity and imagination take over. It was a good time.

So why doesn't it run? Or did it go straight from the wrecker to the back corner?

Ignition switch wiring. Tracked down the wires and have the part just haven’t gotten the wires off yet or the part installed lol. And yes it did come straight off the truck to it’s spot. That was in 2019 lol. I’ve never had it running I just seen and heard it run before my teacher sold it to me.

As a side note: It's final day of service was delivering material to the construction of the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Plant. Overkill should like that.
Some of the US nuke names are really quite striking, either through creativity or just because the place their were built also had a really neat name, this would be one of those. Ours are all named after their location, but none of them are funky like some of the US ones!

Lol. Unfortunately no where else to put it. I could put it under the carport once we part with some junk lol. I’d like to make our carport a garage but I’m saving up for a Blazer then I may consider a garage lol.
No offense but you seem to be the poster child for the cobbler with barefoot kids. Eight vehicles with at least one we've almost seen under the tarp needing serious work and expenditures yet rather than take care of business you want to spend money on a ninth.

Haha. No offense taken. I sold my non running truck. So one project off my hands. Guy got it running and blew the engine in it lol. Called me up asking if I would sell the twin I said no. So I only have 7 vehicles now and that spot in my heart is empty so I must have another vehicle to fill the void 🤣. 🙂. Plus I’ve secretly always liked 95-05 Blazers even though I’m a Ford guy so I had to keep it a secret for awhile. But I made a deal with the parents if I parted with the truck I could get whatever I wanted to replace it. So on my list is at least 6 vehicles I’d consider owning and the appropriate years. Blazer or equivalent is number one. The reason my restorations aren’t a priority right now is I need a daily driver as my Escape is getting worn out with 196,000 on it and 60 miles a day trip. I’ll probably end up selling my Jeep but I’m not sure yet. My Econoline needs a computer. Dad’s Camry is on its last legs. Mom’s Camry well she wants to trade it for one of them expensive 4Runners. Yes I am a pack rat for vehicles especially but I love vehicles. I’m happy with myself that I sold the other one haha. I went to work telling them I sold a vehicle and they asked if they needed to get a doctor because that’s not like me at all lol 😂.

I'm old now so I say anything/everything on my mind, not to offend but just because I can. It sounds like you are young. It also sounds like you suffer from a similar condition I've had, wanting things and enjoying the getting but then not doing too much once gotten. I can tell you from experience it isn't the best system. Your heart is strong, it doesn't need another "thing" to fill any spots. Turn that VW into a show stopper, not as in Concours but as in nobody else in the neighborhood has anything as nice. Fix up mom's or dad's or your main cars so they're good for the near future. Sell off any extras except for the one most important one that needs your attention and focus 100% of your attention on rebuilding/restoring/reclaiming that one. When it's finished then you can put 100% toward the next project. Dividing bits and pieces, dribs and drabs, is a good way to get far less done. In 30-40 years you'll awaken to the knowledge, unless you awaken now. Good luck.

Driving north from Mill Valley on HWY 1 you can see Muir Beach/Pirate's Cove in the distance. Muir Woods National Park with many giant coastal redwoods is nearby.

A few minutes later, making our way toward Stinson Beach.

It's best to eat most carbs rather in one sitting than spread out over several meals. As always I had the Margherita with prosciutto in Point Reyes Station.
