1961 Corvair 95 Rampside pickup.

I made an early morning trip to Lowes and followed this guy in. I talked to the older gentleman a bit about his truck and he kindly let me snap a few pics.
He says that he’s owned it for about 12 years and that he drives it daily and uses it as his workhorse. He says that he has made a few trips up to Michigan in it as well. He’s not interested in restoring it, he wants to use it as it was intended to be used and enjoy it. Good on him. 🍻

Probably low engine noise (from inside the cab) because it's way out back and under the bed. Interesting daily driver.

Going back few years

I had no idea the current cost of a carton of cigarettes'. Last time I might of caught the price of a carton of cigarettes' was the 1970s. I am guessing in the 1970s a carton of cigarettes' was under ten dollars. Picture taken today at the Fort Lewis commissary.

Another new learning opportunity for me earlier today. There is a published standard on the minimum amount of meat in frozen mac and beef (reference the * in the yellow circle).

I guess mac n beef has something in common with motor oils, required to meet certain minimal standards of additives .

Wheat beer from Troegs. Had this with a delicious 18 oz steak with mushrooms and onions a bit ago. Downright delicious

Here are some of the cars that were auctioned off this weekend at the Auburn / Cord / Duesenberg Festival at Auburn, Indiana. Next year, I'll throw out the possibility of a "meet and greet" there, for anyone here who attends, or those who are already in the area.

I had a great time there. It was not held at the RM Sotheby's facility, as it has been sold. This year it was held on the other side of I-69, at the Worldwide Auctioneers facility. It was a three day auction, as well as an outside car corral and swap meet.

All of the outside events were free, and access to the auction arena and the indoor displays was only $15 a day. I had a room at a very nice Comfort Suites just 10 miles away in Fort Wayne for only $68 a night.
