I read recently about a class action lawsuit against Lifelock for claims it didn't meet.
What are your thoughts....Is Lifelock worth having?

There are things you can do yourself.
My wife and I have credit freezes in place with the three credit reporting agencies. They last for five years before renewing is needed. We don't use/need credit or financing. I did have to unfreeze my credit once last year when switching to a new mobil carrier. The process is easy to freeze your credit.

It's basically something you probably don't need. I've had my credit hacked before in the past. I was able to fix it myself pretty easily. All I had to do was call the credit bureaus to have them removed. I think I had to sign an affidavit on one of them.

The media exaggerates ID theft. Yes, it can be devastating but it's not as rampant as they would have you believe. They use scare tactics to sell. I have about 3 free services that monitor my credit. LendingTree is one.

They flood the three CRAs with credit freeze requests.

You should see how many States have filed lawsuits against LifeLock.

I'm starting to think this myself.

I have had Lifelock for several years and am wondering if I have anything to fear (from Lifelock) if I drop them? In other words would they do anything since they have all my account information?

Boy it'd be a real shame if something happened to your credit score.

Don't think it's necessary to use a service like this. You can put a freeze or fraud alert on your own with the big three reporting agency's. Don't pay someone to do it.

The CEO of LifeLock had his identity stolen like 13 times. He used to be on the radio telling how great Lifelock was and read off his SS number.

This. I did this too and it was 5 years. I think this is also prevents banks and others to try to get you to sign up for another credit card, thus no one bother sending me credit card pre approved junk mail. Plus Google is free, Life Lock which is a scam.

I think doing the credit freeze is probably sufficient (if it works for your situation).

After being informed by two different major companies that my info may have been compromised, I took that route. It's fairly easy, but I offer this one warning: be careful when setting up your account with Experian. I had no problems with the other two, but Experian may be the most inept at online security of any company I've ever dealt with - it's a long story, but be very careful when using their website.
