Thoughts on AEM Dryflow air filter? Worth it?

Hello,
I’m thinking about getting a washable filter. What is your opinion about AEM Dryflow filter? Does it save money in the long run?

I would say it would save money.

I have used K&N oiled and other types of oiled and DryFlow type of air filters. You may save money in the long duration of vehicle ownership from not having to buy another air filter. But as far as saving money elsewhere such as in fuel economy or gaining some(if even noticeable) performance, I have never, ever, ever ever, noticed a fiikken thing.

I use an AEM Dryflow filter on my 2002 GMC ......for well over 10 years, heck it could be 15. It's a well built filter, it shows no sign of coming apart. I probably have washed it maybe 5 times.

Not as good as a Paper Air Filter.

I have an AEM Dryflow A/F on my 2014 Focus 5spd M/T. I installed it along with the so-called 'snorkle delete' and it really helped smooth out my 1st gear take-offs...It helped the car 'breath better' IMO.
I've washed it twice in the 50K I've had it and I recommend the filter.

Other than cars that are tracked or specifically built for high HP performance, standard paper filter all the way. They filter particulate much better.

The best oil filter, is a good air filter! I could not find an AEM comparison. Isn't AEM made by K&N ?

At 6.07 of this video, this guy shows a graph with different air filters, 2 paper air filters, an AEM DryFlow, a K&N air filter, and some other brand. His setup seems a bit more sophisticated than the Project Farm Video. The Paper Air Filter let slightly less dirt particles than the AEM Dry Flow and the K&N was worse.

Have the Afe & AEM dry filters on 3 of my vehicles. I like them. Many years and miles without issue

Slightly less works for me and I get better air flow to boot!

The guy that own this company says to never clean these reusable dry filters. He says replace them.
