I would be interested in getting a sound off for those that doing extended oil changes (10k miles or more). I would be interested in your choice of oil and your annual mileage.

I did a quick search of the forum but l didn't see a thread on this topic

I follow my OLM on my Ram and go every 5000 for now on the Wrangler.

The OLM on the Ram with my driving works out to about 10,000 miles. I did go to 20k once but the effort for the filter is too much, so I'm falling back to OLM/Life Based changes. AKA, sometimes it'll be 11000.

I used Pennzoil Platinum 5w20 early in the truck's life and UOAs showed that it was suitable, but barely. I've been using HPL products (PCMO 5w20, Euro 5w30, PCMO 5w30) since 56k on the truck with 137k on it now.

Historically, annual usage is 25-27,000 miles but it looks like this year is trending a little lower. Either way, the truck's daily commute is 80% highway, 54 miles round trip, 5 days a week and when we're going somewhere as a family we take the truck.

Hopefully this search link works, but these are all of my UOAs.

I typically do 10k miles at a minimum. I've done so with everything from SuperTech and RK conventional lubes (back in the day), to expensive stuff.

Right now all my vehicles are on HPL PCEO. (Lexus 2GR-FE, Lexus 2GR-FKS, Mazda 2.0L Skyactive, Ford 6.2L)
I plan to run 20k miles on them and do UOAs. Will extend further if the reports look favorable.

Here's a link to my 20k OCI on the PHEV using Mobil 1 Extended Performance 0w-20. https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/t...0-20-035-miles-2017-ford-c-max-energi.399700/ I've revisited the estimate of ICE miles and believe them to be on the order of 9600. Please note that all of the extended drains I have posted here were from earlier formulations of Mobil 1 that still had PAO. Like @dnewton3 I have moved on to HPL Premium Plus in all of my vehicles. I plan to get a few used oil analysis once the two Toyotas cross the 10k line.

We do 10k mile OCI with SuperTech 0W-20. My wife and I drive a lot of highway miles. The majority of our drives involve being on an interstate highway. My wife drives about 25k miles a year and I do about 12k miles a year.

I do a 10k mile OCI on my MB E350, since I bought the car with 40k miles on it. It is almost due for a 120k mile service. I've exculsively used Mobil 1 Euro FS 0W-40.

Annual mileage used to be between 10k - 12k miles/year, but any longer I only put about 7500 miles/year on her now.

At about 100k miles, out of curiosity I ran a borescope down the oil fill neck, and all the interior surfaces that I could see were 100% free of any varnish or discoloration. It all looked brand new.

My wife's BMW also calls for a 10k mile oci, but I am going to do a used oil analysis before I decide to go with that interval. I haven't done an oil change on her yet, but she will be due in August. I haven't decided which oil to use, but most likely will go with Motul Specific 0W-30.

This is the 1st time I'll actually let my monitor run out on my wifes 24 Altima, which should put it close to 10K. It's got a belly full of redline and with the supposed cost increase coming, I'm not about to waste it. I won't UOA it, but others have on this engine and it appears to be easy on oil.

And those who prior to 2026 - never ran extended OCI’s 😷
I bet lots of us are about to start extending oil changes for the first time, like it or not.

I've done 6500 mile changes, but that was usually due to a vacation in the middle of a run. My hybrid van that is 100% city though....tough to extend that one without doing some oil testing, which I need to do. My Wrangler will always be once a year, as I only put 3000-4000 miles a year on it, and being a PUG, I'm not taking my chances.

I're required to do 7500 mile changes with my company provided F150.
