Lawyers are like guns. Just as guns don't kill people -- people kill people, lawyers don't sue people, their clients sue people. And their clients are you and me and the rest of the American people. And all those judgments that the ignorant masses constantly complain about and criticize lawyers for are judgments granted to plaintiffs by juries, not by courts and not by lawyers. And the juries are you and me and the rest of the citizens of this country. The same people that pillory the lawyers over these judgments are the people that sit on the juries and rule in favor of the plaintiffs. So wise up.
Im caught up in it right now... My car got smashed, they claim 100% fault, but if I want to get one dime, I have had to go from small claims to county appeals to county court with a jury. Will I get anywhere without paying a lawyer >50% of what id get? nope. So much for getting my car fixed.
So much for making the cout system accessible to the people.
If you hire a civil engineer to oversee a building of a bridge, the intent is the greater public safety. One can figure out how to properly do plumbing, wiring, etc. However, if I ever wanted to get more than a slap in the face payment amount for my car, I need a lawyer to take the trial to higher courts, costing me so much money that I cant get enough to actually repair my car, and so $crewing me over royally. Here I thouhgt I was being honest claiming that I had NO injuries and just wanted a fast settlement.
Thanks to who??? Last I checked there were no ambulance chaser engineers or plumbers (in fact, the ambulance chaser lawyers have to hire other trained professionals to make their stupid suits, which cost EVERY taxpayer, to make anything they say worth their salt). Last I checked, other professions didnt make every attempt to milk money from entities for stupidity (e.g. fat people suing mcdonalds, or suing because coffee is hot and it got spilled). Lawyers taking advantage of the system for the sake of corporate profit (e.g. progressive in my situation) are every bit as low down and horrid as any other scum of the earth profession, when they impede a normal, honest American from getting a reasonable settlement, and forcing them into extremely costly legal proceedings for something that is so cut and dry that it is silly.
Is my anger due to the situation that I am in? Yes... if I was $crewed over by soe other entity, would I be upset with it instead? Yes. But now that Ive been crossed by the lawyers and insurance companies that have kept me from getting a settlement for the last two years - I could care less for both of these groups, and hope the worst for them.
rant off.
