I mean, I'm switching to Pennzoil Conventional after this OCI from Castrol GTX. Silly sodium additive, this Subaru owner isn't happy about it.

LOL!!!

I agree...I have a hard time taking oil advice from a Valvoline quick-lube "technician" who can't spell or properly punctuate a simple sentence and who obviously subscribes to the ancient "Pennzoil causes sludge" theory that was debunked years ago.

It's funny how he's been using "Mobile 1" for 80k miles. There is no such thing as "Mobile 1" oil. Must be a new brand.

Just picked up a 5qt jug of Pennzoil 5w30. It has a new sticker on the front, of a clean shiny piston.

My Integra has 140k miles on it using conventional every single oil change for 3-5k, except one 4.5k amsoil interval, what's all that black tar under my valve cover? Oh wait, it's shiny metal...

Yeah, that's because the 9 out of 10 engines he sees previously had been changed by a Jiffy Lube-style "tech" about 15K miles ago with Pennzoil as per their normal routine.

Of course neglected engines will have problems and the lubrication will suffer.

This is part of the problem with a lot of the people who claim to be in "the industry". Too many "I saw an engine with Pennzoil in it and it was sludged" so it must be true that Pennzoil SUXORz LOL!. Let's think rationally and research instead of unreasonably reacting.

I like his 9 out of 10 line. Is he like that "4 out of 5 mothers use Jiff" commercial? Or "3 out of 4 dentists recommend Dentyne". I'd like to see his research...generalizations don't cut it.

Seeing cars that are running in the 300k to 500k mark on Pennzoil conventional and still running like a bat outta "you know where" is all the proof I need to know it`s definitely one of the best oils made.
