Things you grew up eating as a kid - not much seen anymore

I'll start with what pops into my mind. Mainly family get togethers and social events.
Jello salads w/diced carrots, cottage cheese, fruits, even salmon inside.
Chef Boyardee Pizza
Stewed tomatoes with bread
Squirrels, rabbits, pheasants, fish and whatever I would drag home
Salmon patties
Tuna noodle casseroles
Chipped beef on toast
Canned asparagus and spinach
Rice Krispie bars and no bake cookies

What do you remember?

My mother made an outstanding vichyssoise...heck, it was 'not seen much..' THEN.

Mom's Salmon Croquettes were also 1st Class. She simply stopped making them. I was just talking about this with my sister.
Actually, I have a faded recollection about a jump in salmon prices being linked to funding salmon ladders in Alaska.
So buying salmon at the time was like paying a voluntary tax.

Never had squirrel, but I do want to stroll into the nearby park and grab a couple of Canada Geese.

My grandma sourced the best chocolate cigars. She wouldn't go near play cigarettes.

TV dinners out of the Swanson's truck. (Actually only had this a few times that I can remember)
RC Cola and Shasta brand soda
Liver and Onions
Chicken a la King (someone would always bring this to family get together's as a kid)
Jello dishes of all kinds

Edit:
Anybody remember seeing frozen pizzas being cut with scissors? My grandmother would do this to our great amusement.
Also, one thing I forgot was lots of casseroles with Cambell's cream of "whatever" soup as the sauce.

My mother baked 3 kinds of bread:
  • loaves made in loaf pans
  • loaves about 5/8" thick in a circle about 18" across
  • loaves about 1" thick in a circle about 15" across
The 1" thick version was called hieno leipä in our community. We all thought that was the name for that kind of bread but I recently learned hieno leipä just means "fine bread" in Finnish.

These 3 kinds of bread are quite different though they're all are made from the same dough. If there are any bread bakers in our group you might try making the 1" thick X 15" diameter circles (probably baked on a floured cookie sheet). That's really good bread.

Ate this many times as a kid. Wouldn't today. If you can identify it then moo for you.
