Things we see driving around - original content (pictures you snapped)

We are coming up on four years since the Bay Area woke up to orange skies and smoky air, ashes falling from the sky for days. Wildfires were raging all along the coast and inland. All day long, it looked like dusk, with a dystopian orange glow hanging above the Bay Area.

Ocean Beach around midday. You are looking south. The city is to the left and still shrouded in darkness. The sky was a little brighter out to sea but you can see the marine layer in the distance and when that came in, it brought with it more ash.
This looks like Beach Blvd in Pacifica. I think the photo was taken just south of the pier.

You're right. It's Pacifica State Beach. You can see city hall on the left, or rather the building where city hall holds all oublic meetings. I went surfing a few miles south at Linda Mar which turned out to be a bizarre experience. Daly City is to the left.

The two guys did a very poor job at putting the donut on. I would have helped them but I didn't feel like butchering Spanish and I believe in learning by doing. Steep and winding mountain road.

They didn't put the handbrake on. The car moved when they jacked up the car.
They didn't break the lug nuts loose while the car was still on the ground.
It took both guys ten minutes to place the jack and get the wheel off the ground.
They struggled with the lug nuts for 5 minutes.
Once the wheel was off it got away and two guys and their bored supervisor/chauffeur had to play fetch in the parking lot.
They didn't lower the car before torquing the lug nuts.
I think this may have been their first rodeo. They were in their 20s!

At one point a park ranger drove by, watched them for a minute, shook his head, and hightailed it out of there.

I made sure they saw me making the sign of the cross when they finally drove off. o_O

Tiburon pic #2 ?
Amazing place.
Geography, with hills blocking cold ocean breezes, make it very balmy.
I see the house where Robin Williams died.
That's the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge and you see Richmond in the East Bay at the far side. San Quentin is visible near the left edge of the image. Tiburon is off to the right and not visible.

In the third picture, you see the mansions of Mill Valley littering the hillsides and Tiburon is near the left at the top.

OK. There is actually a visable portion of Tiburon, north of downtown, that swings around towards Corte Madera, surprisingly. I recently delivered a seven figure settlement check to the residence of a high end San Francisco lawyer, right there in the center of pic #2.

These are amazing views. I love all your roadside pics, vavavroom !
