I will be there next Thursday 10December through the 17th. A cousin is getting married. I have been there a bunch of times, but I guarantee after the wedding on Saturday I will be bored. Is Mike Greenwell's putt-putt still there? I spent a whole day driving the go-karts last time I was there.

If there are any members that are near and want to get together for lunch or dinner let me know. It would be cool to meet other people, I think user Eddie lives there.

If it's warm, hit the beach and scope out the chickadees!!

My aunt and uncle and their kids used to work at Maria's Italian, that place was good.

I think the family coming in from NY are getting a condo at Fort Myers Beach. They keep wanting me to go to the beach, but seem to forget where the beach here is.

I will have to try that burger place. The Mexican one looks good, but my family tends to be skiddish of Mexican food. I already tried to Hooters in Cape Coral and Fort Myers, still have to go to the one in Fort Myers Beach to complete the shot glass collection.

Exactly the review I wanted. As for Mexican restaurants, usually the shadier the place looks, the better the food is.

Cape Coral was like the #1 or #2 most foreclosed city when the bubble burst. The house next to my aunt was foreclosed. People came in and stole all the copper wiring and then they had to just bulldoze the house since there was no value any longer.

I still trip out at the weird fascination with Santa Barbara there. There is a Santa Barbara BLVD and a Santa Barbara shopping center. Last time I was there I went up to Publix to buy all the beer for a family party. The girl looked at my DL and asked "where is Goleta (pronounced wrong)?" I said "next to Santa Barbara" and everyone around freaked out like I was a celebrity.

I guess not so much freak out, but acted like teenagers. Either that or the shopping cart full of beer I was buying made them jealous.

Thomas Edison's winter house is just across the Caloosahatchee south of the bridge in Ft. Myers....now a museum....a nice visit....I used to live in an art-deco modern house on the river just north of the bridge in an area now full of condo-towers.

We will be in Cape Coral from Feb 12-15 next year! Friends of ours have a winter home there. We stayed with them last February but only for one night, so we really didn't get to see much of Cape Coral, but we liked what we did see. It's not far from Fort Myers beach and a few other scenic areas too. I find that pretty much everywhere in Florida is nice, especially in the winter months since it's mostly sunny and you don't get those daily thunderstorms like you get in the summer months
