The 'self-sealing' R134A cans are a pain

Had a leaking connection on the Explorer sometime between last fall and this spring. System was completely empty. Replaced said seals and vacuumed the system out, ready to add nearly 4 cans (45 oz). First of all, only two out of the four cans easily emptied their contents. The other two took forever/had to detach/reattach the tap multiple times to get them flowing. And both of them continued to dispense refrigerant after the tap was pulled off of them, until the valve decided to seal a couple seconds later. So much for these newer cans being environmentally friendly. FYI, I was using the correct tap for self-sealing cans.

Maybe Lee Zeldin will fix this as well and we can go back to the older style cans. Yes I bought the expensive Mastercool can tap that lets me use part of an older style can and save the rest for later.

Obligatory rant about A/C tools becoming constantly outdated.

I'm partial to these (non-broken).
