Like the Oscars, they do a 'who died this past year' montage. I'm sure he'll be in it.No mention of any tribute to Charlie Watts either.

Steely Dan and the Doobie Brothers are both in and they both deserve to be there.Right and I bet you are right about THE BAND (I own about everything they ever released) + video. I have to watch The Last Waltz every few months or if feeling down / blue. LMAO - good thing the wife of 45+ years works in the day time. Lots of music I have to enjoy with her out of the house. She can't handle most of THE BAND's stuff. "how can you keep listening to that dreadful OLD PEOPLE music!?" Yet she is 64 , just a bit younger than me. Those Canadians always put an instant smile on my face. That R&R HOF is a sad excuse for what it claims to be. I wonder if Jeff Skunk Baxter is even in there as a founding member of Steely Dan to his run with Doobie Brothers who? By the way are they even in it?
P.S. we actually were lucky to see BTO about 8 or 9 years ago at a local casino. Those old timers could still blow the place apart! What a great time that was. YES.... no Guess Who / Steppenwolf is absured!
How could I forget them. American R&R at its finest. They sold out Shea stadium faster than the Beatles I heard.Look at Grand Funk Railroad and all they did.
I am pretty sure he was. I think they all were back for the 2009 and on reunion I read went on for many years after that. Still awesome at that time.Steely Dan and the Doobie Brothers are both in and they both deserve to be there.
BTW, when you saw BTO was Randy Bachman with them?
What a great time that was. YES.... no Guess Who / Steppenwolf is absured!
Just to clarify, Yes is in the Hall.
The Guess Who not being in is another travesty.
But, American Woman was a number one hit song and top 10 album in 1970, arguably the peak year for Rock and Roll music. Maybe it was this song that did 'em in.Clap For the Wolfman did 'em in.
It undid what they did with Undone
.. and No Time
j.k. - Ken
Or Foreigner.
It has become a running joke at this point.
Pop/Country-Pop has "crossed-over" to rock and roll. Mostly because of "top-40" radio of the past. Dolly Parton with "Here we go again, Jolene)" and even Glen Campbell who had several (too many to mention) "country songs" cross over to pop (Wichita Lineman among MANY OTHERS). Dionne Warwick had a whole slew of hits-and is probably more well-known (by those in a certain age group) than some others mentioned above. But yea-it's not exactly the "Rock and Roll" Hall of Fame due mostly to cross over hits.I sure wish they would call themselves "Music Hall Of Fame" or something and leave out the Rock & Roll part.
Here's the list of nominees:
- A Tribe Called Quest
- Beck
- Pat Benatar
- Kate Bush
- Devo

- Eminem
- Eurythmics
- Fela Kuti
- Judas Priest
- MC5

So shouldn't they get inducted?Ian McDonald passed away 2/9 .
Yes , many years ago .So shouldn't they get inducted?
IMO at a minimum, half of the Rock and Roll HOF members shouldn’t be in the “HOF! Though I love Dolly Parton, Dionne Warwick, Lionel Ritchie and many others of a different genre, they aren’t Rockers! Kinda like KISS being in the country music HOF!
Carly Simon should have been inducted years ago . Thin Lizzy wasn't inducted 2020 . No , Styx , Kansas , Bad Company , Free , Marshall Tucker and ............
Wise choice .The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was on my bucket list of places to visit. However I saw some of the names and bands that were inducted. Not rock and roll. The place is no longer on my list.
