Since not all Valvoline products are readily available locally, I was exploring options to source outside my area.
It turns out that buying from Valvoline direct has some nice perks:
— They use the Shopify platform, which has become my preferred online way to shop by far, and is the easiest way to avoid Amazon
— It lets me avoid Amazon, which I found personally desirable
— The products arrive very well packaged. The jugs or quarts have heat-shrink seals on them that assure zero risk of tampering (you can’t say that about WalMart or Amazon). The quarts I most recently received were neck-sealed with heat shrink plastic, then placed inside a plastic bag, and then that bag was placed inside a box that had a PIG mat in the bottom.
— You get a pretty nice little Valvoline discount this way (even if you don’t subscribe). The net cost as delivered can be quite competitive. For example, I ordered 4 quarts of Advanced 20w50, and the all-in cost with shipping, tax, discounts, etc was $34. $9/quart shipped for quart packages is pretty competitive, since my local auto parts stores all want $10 or more for a quart of any kind of Valvoline full synthetic.
I think I might do this again. We’ll see.
