I don't turn the little pooper room fan on in the winter. I figure I don't want to pump warm air outside, and draw in fresh cold air. Besides the wear and tear on the fan, there is the electricity usage of the fan as well.

It may stink. But, it's a warm stink.

You should let it sit in the bowl and cool off before flushing. Don't want to waste all that body heat.

same thing could be done with hot used motor oil...

....

Every time you flush you bring cold water into the house which cools the air in the house. Don't flush until summer when you need the cooling.

Dave rocks. His farm is less farm than redneck heaven.

Found an Everstart MAXX-1N battery at the dump. The expensive yellow one. Date code 11/03. Test it, it's dead all right and won't charge.

Take it to the WM TLE for warranty, they confirm it's dead. 3 year free replacement. Lady says it's too old. I ask if they can prorate. They can! Worth $38.70. I ask do I have to buy another yellow deluxe battery or can I get anything. I can get anything. I choose a cheapo black battery, 2 year warranty. $49.76. Enviro fees and sales taxes cancel each other out. Pay $11 for a brand new battery!

Gets better, I get a core refund receipt, so the next junk battery I find laying around (or if I choose to replace one with this thing) is going back for $10 instead of the usual $5 I get elsewhere. So really the net cost to me is a buck!

Only snafu is a wierd one, b/c I had no receipt, the replacement battery got punched 11/03 for warranty purposes, and because it's the cheap one if it conks out tomorrow it's practically worthless. I was issued no receipt for the new one (huh?) and exited through the side door so they knew I was "good".

elejefino, what can I say? You've elevated being cheap to an artform!

On the flip side, I draw the line at heating the house with effluent. Simply not enough BTUs involved to put up with unsanitary /smelly conditions. :no-no:

I usually keep my heat at 65 when I'm home and 60 at night or when I'm gone; my new kick arse fireplace insert with fan keeps it at 80 degrees. Free wood rules! Nothin better than a nicely stoked fire, an ice cold beer, and a football game on the tube when it's 10 degrees out.
