the OFFICIAL "Advance Auto Parts (AAP) closing" thread ... put ALL deals, rebates, etc here ... (forum rules still apply)

Really? I think I was all-in $10.22 a gallon. Now to see how much I can sell. Two oil changes a year on my truck doesn't account for much and I had already planned to switch to Delo 600. I could use it on my wife's car, but I already have sufficient 0w-40 set aside for that purpose.

Yeah. Depending on how you factor freight into it. It’s several dollars under my cost. And I just bought several pallets of it. I’m not going to say specific numbers for confidentiality reasons.

So very good score. Think about it this way vs my cost, every 4th box was free.

If I knew I could've sold it in quantity, I would have bought more. Kinda like small rifle primers pre pandemic.

Please pardon my absence gentlemen ;) Been VERY busy with this M1 Truck/SUV bonanza!!! So last 3 weeks I have picked up in 2 states the following

80 5W20 5qt jugs
50 5W30 5qt jugs
30 0W20 5qt jugs

In both states 5W20 seemed to be the most common weight $20 or less/ @ $15.55.
AAP is so bi-polar and scattered in pricing some stores it was $15.55 others $23.XX or $19.XX or $27.XX. Just plain stupid !!

During the "25% clearance event" 75% of the AAP stores had no clue about it and did not want to honor the NATIONWIDE corporate promotion even after showing a picture of the flyer, Hearing the "my manager didn't tell me about this, so I cant do it" and "if I gave you 25% off clearance my manager would fire me" Just another AAP incompetence report. When price was marked at $15.55 for the 5qt jugs I just kept my mouth shut cause eventually the speed perks coupon and shell rewards I would get next day would make it a "better deal" ;)

BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT 3 AAP stores did honor the 25% off promo and with those stores showing red tag showing 5qt jugs @ $15.55 ;) SO IT WAS MERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!! $11.66+ tax PER JUG!!!!!!!!:cool::LOL:

And thanks to this event I have received $1.00 off per gallon shell gas rewards 4x and around $300 in speed perks being a ELITE member that I used next day to get more oil ;) So in a sense, AAP is helping me with fuel to visit these locations on my work routes ;)

And I strongly recommend investing in one of these cause when its time to "back up the truck" I don't clown around and bring out the "BIG GUNS" to achieve my goal ;)

Keeping a HARD eye on prices to fall down from $27.XX from remaining stores. But probably wont happen until end of this month at best??

Tell me more about that van. Does it benefit from all this plundering? 😉

Plundering 🤪    Did I hit your area??🥴

First come, first serve bud and I know how to use my words and brain to get what I want...... LEGALLY!!!! 🤪🤪(y)

"Don't hate the player, Hate the game"(y)

AZ manager once told me he bought all the 0W20 on clearance plus a 20% discount - obviously didn’t have an MBA …

Yup have gotten that from O'reilly's, AZ in my travels. Its expected (margin of error) and I just cross that store off my list and move on

A tip of the BITOG hat to you @DFWoilguy, however my experience with AAP "deals" and the machinations required to eke out the savings is many times not worth the effort. Specifically for me the last time with the Castrol rebates/AAP gift card fiasco and the time spent running down the credit issued for the gift cards. Maybe I'm getting old and losing the thrill of the hunt, but I am delighted with my recent Kirkland oil purchases of $15/Jug w/o the attitude, incompetence or wondering if they'll have my grade in stock. YMMV.

I feel ya brother. Sometimes it's like "Pulling teeth" trying to get what's advertise or dealing with lazy incompetent employee's who lie about stock or dealing with rebates/promotions

But I LOVEEEEEEEEE the thrill of the hunt and love to give away some of my "treasures" when I make a deal with someone and they show "respect" to me on the final price. Sometimes the TRUE reward is the smile on a persons face ;)

It is definitely annoying. Sometimes not even worth it for resellers like me and Dave. I have definitely soured on rebates some. There have been times where I just don't want to be bothered based on past annoyances, and by the time I eventually try to submit, it'd be past the deadline. That's extra annoying because I made the time to look into it, just too late, and I kick myself for not only trying, but trying too late. So I wasted time anyway

Oh for sure, but if your motivation was to kidnap BITOGERs, that's what would lure us in lol.

You can't give away your moneymaker though. Free candy it is!

Ya from "past experiences", BITOGERS are the last people I want in my oil van lol ;) 🤪 🥴

Honestly I love having these big HD vans in my fleet where my 1500 Suburban falls short and cruising around DFW picking up closeout deals at my local oil vendor or retail locations cranking up some 80's rock (RATT, Van Halen) and eating different country/Mexican foods

good times down here in DFW metro VS a state just north of here with nothing but drama and clowns:sneaky::LOL:🤪
