the OFFICIAL "Advance Auto Parts (AAP) closing" thread ... put ALL deals, rebates, etc here ... (forum rules still apply)

YIKES!!! Good thing I traded 75% of my stash of this Delo oil to mechanic for his labor :ROFLMAO: 🥴 😂

On the other side I dont think my 4.6, 5.4's and GM 5.3 would really care about the oil status/frothing??

Shaking it up does not, but it puts it back into temporary suspension and operating heat puts it back into solution. Valvoline noted this at one time.
By heat, what do you mean? Is engine heat adequate?

Would the oil in my picture re constitute?

I suppose all solutions are always "on their way out", just like the adage, "dying from the moment of birth"

Do you still have it in the glass? Maybe some low heat on the stove and stir? We'd all probably like to know, at least I would.

I've used many older bottles of stuff over time. About the most I did was shake it up to suspend any potentially settled stuff and in the motor it went.

No I returned it.

I did miss a good opportunity though. I could have kept one gallon, and did some experiments, and sent a two samples and posted them for the experts to see here on BITOG.

Oh well.

How can you be sure that's solids / additive falling out and not air entrapment? I still don't know what I'm looking at in that photo; I've never seen motor oil poured into glass mug. Can you be certain that brand new oil poured in a glass mug won't look that way?

well, the bottle had a sludgy goo on the bottom. checked with a kabob stick.

i used a milk frother to foam the oil, that picture was long after the mixing.

i am no expert.

Could be bad packaging, who knows.

Never tried that with motor oil, I don't think any have been tested against milk frothers. Did the wife approve?

Me either. I'll comfortably run the 7 gallons I just received in at least two of my vehicles; I'll run a UOA on at least one OCI. If I see anything alarming at the bottom of the bottle (I don't own a milk frother for that test) I'll be sure to post here.

The three bottles that are presently in my 6.7 CTD were dated 2024 and the bottom of the bottles came clean on the pour.

I sold all the bottles that were 2017-2023 so I can't help.
