I mean the real one. Gin (Vodka is OK) just a touch of vermouth and some olives. Is there anything better than having a martini and looking at your oil collection with pride? I know, most on here would probably prefer beer, but being the wannabe yuppie that I am... Nothing gives quite the satisfying buzz of a martini. I like mine dirty... Like my women.

I perfer a gin and tonic myself, but have been known to sip a martini when feeling quite high class. i like saphire gin.
The gin and tonic is equal to the martini in my mind, some of the time. But, making the martini heightens the experience. I prefer Tanquery Ten myself. I like the stonger botanical essence.
G&T's-the drink of choice for true alcoholics
Al , I've known serious alcoholics who would prefer drinking mouthwash to gin. Once you get sick on gin, it's a tough return trip.
Just a splash of FP will liven up any drink.
I've been sick on gin a number of times. Still nothing better. Now Rumpleminz (spelling) that's a completely different story.

A friend of mine once got bombed on Goldschlager and was sick for days afterward. Not good.
My favorite is the Whiskey Manhattan. 2 shots bourbon, 1 shot red sweet vermouth and a dash of Angostura bitters. Very nice. It'll get you bombed in a hurry, though.

Boodles or Bombay Sapphire gin and Cinzano or M&R white vermouth, shaken 4 to 1, with one garlic-stuffed olive.
