A requirement to post on BITOG, IMHO.Thick skinned.
I have been eating a whole lemon, including the skin, every day for many years. Sometimes I slice the lemon, sometimes I stick it into a blender and blend it with other things. With oranges, I usually nibble some of the rinds and I always eat as much of the pith as possible. Obviously I use only organic citrus since I have no desire in ingesting residue from pesticides.Googled "albedo" after hearing all my life it was good to eat......it does check a few boxes.
Better to harvest it and bury it in another dish. It doesn't have much taste, so why not?
A friend ingests whole citrus peel using a blender recipe. I forget what it's supposed to do for him.
I don't juice citrus. I blend it whole with usually an apple and water and often some other things. I do want all the fiber.Did you try juicing it?
Any reason for eating the skin? Is it for fiber or something. I have an old relative who is 102 and she straight up eats the lemon garnish with her water when we go out to a restaurant.I have been eating a whole lemon, including the skin, every day for many years. Most of the nutrients, vitamins, antioxidants, and fiber are in the skin. Bitter, sour, I love it all.Any reason for eating the skin? Is it for fiber or something. I have an old relative who is 102 and she straight up eats the lemon garnish with her water when we go out to a restaurant.
