Ft. Worth, TX to LA, CA non-stop except for gas about 24 hours driving time. Staying awake wasn't much of a problem then since the fine folks in the army kept me up sometimes for two to three days at a time. No. No stimulates either, except for coffee.

In 1966 there was a nation wide airline strike and my wife and I drove from Bath, Me to Granite City, Il. in one run 1400 miles. Have driven 900 miles to Gainesville, Fl. at least 10 times in one run.

Toss up between Chicago and Kansas City and Chicago and Huntington, WV. Both trips ran me 10-11 hours. I drove all the way (no co-driver).

Non-stop from roughly Philadelphia to Orlando multiple times.

Not fun, why stress the body so much?

I think it was probably upstate NY to Ft. Myers, FL, around 1500 miles in under 24 hours straight. Done a bunch of runs like that from Florida north, or the north back to Florida in around 24 hours. It is more pleasant to limit a day to around 600-750 miles. Since I've done a lot of offshore sailing I know I'm pretty good with no sleep for up to three days (72 hours) straight if I need to, but having a few catnaps every once in awhile is a much better way to go.

Detroit to Destin Florida, about 1100 miles, 18 hours, one way, just me driving, non stop, round trip over a few days,, three times in one summer.

Springfield, MO to Austin, TX after working 8 hours... 10 or 12 hours driving can't remember which. 69 through Oklahoma at night isn't for the tired.
