The 1980's

I always say if I could go back in time, the 80's would be the place to go (for me). Good times and memories I guess. The music was great, still some of my favorite songs. TV shows like Matt Houston, Remington Steele, The Equalizer! Of course Miami Vice, just play the open song and I'm transported back. Then there was Beverly Hills Cop, the Terminator, Eddie Murphy Raw and Delirious. The Beastie Boys and 2 Live Crew.
I can remember hanging out with my dad on Friday night watching tv and eating popcorn made on the stove. That or I'd be with friends hanging out chasing the girls at the roller rink. Swingin' place back then. Renting movies was sort of still new mid 80's IIRC. We had a disc player before a VCR. Remember those? Big old square like plastic cover you'd have to insert into the player and it would take out the disc. It was like a record. Then, halfway through the movie you would have to flip it. Man, I haven't thought about that stuff in forever.

Oh I remember the band Europe. People would say "I went to see Europe last week." And then you'd say which country and then they would say no, the band.

Oh and the Commodore 64.

Power Ballads!!

i loved the cadillac cimarron, and the first time i seen a digital radio in a car
also to car51 there is a europe concert available on blu ray if you are interested

Oh and what about wearing Guess jeans and you had to have them tight rolled at the bottom. I had a few pair to go along with my Nike AIR shoes. The Jordan's were the shoes to have if you could afford them. I remember buying a pair of British Knight brand shoes for like $80 in '89. Other movies I remember well that scream the 80's are Crocodile Dundee, Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, Weird Science, Young Guns, Caddy Shack, Major League, Return of the Jedi, Batman, Predator, Commando, The Road Warrior, and License to Drive along with The Lost boys. Can't forget Married with Children on TV. Super Mario Bros on NES. Big hair and bangs.

Haha one of us would sneak one of our parents' cars out in the middle of the night to go pick up some hot chicks we knew. A night I remember,we were like 13 or so (in the eighth grade),it was my turn to sneak out *my* parent's car. It was probably just before sunrise and we turned down my street. I knew something was wrong because all the lights in my house were on,and my parents were sitting on the front porch waiting for me! As soon as I pulled into my driveway,my best friend, and the two chicks we were with all night jumped out of the car and ran for their lives haha! I can still remember it like it was yesterday :^) It was my friend I've known since kindergarten,Wayne, and two chicks from school,Melinda and Wendy. GOOD TIMES!!

I don't remember the 1980s because I was 3 when it was over, but I remember remnants of the 1980s.

I remember my parents' 1986 Ranger had a badge on the tailgate that proudly advertised the fact that it had fuel injection...that truck also had all of 90 HP!

My parents used to have a bunch of cassette tapes from the 1970s and 1980s, but I think they donated most of them. I still have some Bob Marley ones, maybe some others.

I remember when they used to use that slide imprint thing for credit cards in stores. You didn't use your credit card at McDonald's and stuff, you used it at the mall.

I also remember faux 3M print woodgrain on EVERYTHING...cars, furniture, electronics, pretty much anything a vinyl applique could be put on.

I'd forgotten about those! I remember when they were in full use. Something else I remember, the HEB grocery store down the street from our house installing the "scanners" on every checkout aisle. No more keying in every price, etc. This was 1985.
