Many of us have frequented the community since Bob Winters opened and hosted the forum on “theoildrop.server101.com” in autumn of 1999. The official site was registered as a domain June 13th 2001 and the site launched July 17th 2001.

I remember theoildrop from long ago. Then I just checked BITOG off and on for info as a lurker for a long time.

While most enthusiast sites went the way of Facebook, this one has stood the test of time.
I too feel very fortunate to be a part of something that's all encompassing where I learn something every time I log in.
It's a nice mix of personalites and lifestyles that showcases how we're all different but similar at the same time.
